Farm Tour in Nebraska on July 11th, 2015

OCIA Certified Member, Grain Place Foods, will host their 22nd Annual Farm Tour on Saturday, July 11th, 2015 in Marquette, Nebraska.  A farm and plant tour will take place between 8:30am-Noon, followed by a lunch.  The featured speaker during lunch will be Dr. Jessica Shade, Director of Science Programs at The Organic Center.  "Science Supporting the Benefits of Organic" is the topic of Dr. Shade's presentation.  There is a $15 meal cost.  Please RSVP to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Organic Field Day in Iowa on June 24th, 2015

OCIA Iowa Chapter #1 will be sponsoring a Practical Farmers of Iowa Field Day at Whiterock Conservancy on Wednesday, June 24, from 3-8 p.m., near Coon Rapids.

The event will explore the conservancy's pasture and grazing program, which factors in ways to protect soil and water quality, as well as increase visitor interaction with pastured livestock.  The field day will also explore row crop strategies at the conservancy, such as incorporating prairie strips, that are aimed at protecting water quality.
